Many Everton fans have been left fuming over some news involving Financial Fair Play (FFP).

As per an article from earlier this week by The Daily Mail, which has since been shared by The Everton End on Twitter, it is now estimated that the Goodison Park club will have no ‘wiggle room’ when it comes to spending in the January transfer window due to FFP, as they would have to make another £35m in profit before they can start to spend.

They are the only club in the Premier League with a negative figure in terms of ‘wiggle room’, as Tottenham Hotspur top the list with an estimated £400m available to potentially spend on new players before they need to start thinking about FFP.

Aside from this summer, Everton have forked out a lot of money on transfers in the last few seasons but have seen little success come from it, finishing no higher than seventh place in the top flight since 2016/17.

It suggests that the board have not been smart with their transfer business over recent years, which has left them in a pretty messy situation for January 2022.

حذر المدرب الإسباني، بيب جوارديولا، المدير الفني لنادي مانشستر سيتي، من صعوبة مباراة كريستال بالاس في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، مُشيرًا إلى أنهم خصم من الصعب التغلب عليه، مُستشهدًا بتعادل النسور مع ليفربول بهدفٍ لمثله بالجولة الثانية من البريميرليج.

O treino do São Paulo desta quarta-feira teve novidades. O técnico Dorival Júnior contou com o retorno do zagueiro Rodrigo Caio, que estava servindo à Seleção Brasileira e até entrou em campo contra a Colômbia no empate por 1 a 1 na última terça-feira em Barranquilla – ele jogou um minuto. Rodrigo teve um novo companheiro ao seu lado, já que treinou com Bruno Alves, favorito para substituir o suspenso Arboleda no duelo contra a Ponte Preta no próximo sábado no Morumbi.

Bruno Alves foi o mais novo testado por Dorival. Ele chegou há duas semanas, contratado depois de rescindir vínculo com o Figueirense, e tem boas chances de desbancar o experiente e ídolo Lugano. O treinador usou os últimos dias para observar a zaga, e também testou Lugano e Aderllan, outro que ainda não estreou. A definição sairá na atividade desta quinta.

Outro retorno importante foi do atacante Marcos Guilherme, recuperado de um trauma no quadril, sofrido na última segunda-feira. Ele treinou com o time titular, cuja formação foi: Sidão, Militão, Bruno Alves, Rodrigo Caio e Edimar; Petros, Jonatan Gomez e Hernanes; Marcos Guilherme, Lucas Fernandes e Pratto.

Após servirem às seleções do Equador e Peru, o zagueiro Arboleda e o meia Cueva ainda não retornaram. Treinarão nesta quinta, de acordo com programação da comissão técnica. O peruano deve perder seu lugar para Lucas Fernandes. Outra ausência na atividade com o grupo foi o volante Jucilei, que ainda se recupera de um trauma na coxa esquerda. Ele também deve treinar nesta quinta e, se não sentir desconforto, será titular, tirando a vaga de Gomez.

No treinamento, Dorival primeiro armou grupos de quatro jogadores para toques rápidos e na sequência fez trabalhos de ataque contra defesa. Lloyd, the former West Indian captain and current chairman of the ICC’s cricket committee, said Flintoff’s retirement had set a bad example for younger players and that others would soon follow unless money was not pumped into Test cricket.”Would some of these guys have retired if there was no Twenty20? It is obvious if I’m being paid $1.5 million and I don’t have to put in too much work then, yes, I’ll go the other way,” said Lloyd on the first day of the ICC History Conference in Oxford. “It is a bit unfortunate that Flintoff has decided to leave Test cricket and he knows his body and know how bad his ankle is but he is a tremendous cricketer. But the point is he is not going to play for Lancashire – he will play for England in the ODIs and Twenty20. The point is it is destroying the fabric of the game.””When a player retires in his prime and when you have poured all that money on him to get him where he is now and then he leaves that is a bother for me. Like Dwayne Bravo, if he decides to leave halfway [into his career] that is not a situation I would like. I would like a situation where people leave later on and there is a natural progression of young players into the cricket. But I can tell you there are a few more people coming up shortly to announce retirements if this goes on.”Cricket, Lloyd said, was suffering from the “obscene” amount of money being paid in lucrative Twenty20 tournaments, giving the example of West Indies, a good Twenty20 side but struggling to stay afloat in Tests. “We are suffering from that at the moment and I think other countries, too, might. Our countries are probably the second-best players in the world. We are paying guys an obscene amount of money – US $60,000 for one Twenty20 game when he might not bat or bowl. It is destroying the other two components of the game. If Test cricket is the type of cricket we want people to recognise the game by then we have to put a little bit more money into it so players are better paid. We can’t just think it will chug along.”.

Andrew Flintoff featured only briefly during England’s training session at Headingley on Wednesday, but Graham Onions is confident the ailing allrounder will be available for the fourth Test. Flintoff, battling an injured right knee, was withheld from all bowling and running drills, but did bat for 20 minutes, a mildly encouraging sign for England.Such is the concern over Flintoff’s fitness that England named an expanded squad for the fourth Test including Jonathan Trott as batting cover, and bowling insurance in the form of Ryan Sidebottom and Steve Harmison. Flintoff’s fitness and the condition of the Headingley pitch will determine the eventual make-up of England’s XI and no decision is expected until the morning of the match.Flintoff is determined to round out his Test career with rousing performances at Headingley and The Oval, but whether his knee will allow him to participate, much less excel, remains to be seen. Onions, for his part, was hopeful Flintoff would be cleared to play the fourth Test, but only if he was confident of surviving five days.”We all know he’s a legend,” Onions said prior to training. “He’s a great person to have in our team. Being totally honest, I think we’re stronger with him in the team, but that’s only if we’re 100% fit. Andrew’s going to be very honest. He’s going to have a run out today and it’s great for him. As England cricketers we need to make sure that ball swings or does something off the straight or be aggressive. [The second] morning [at Edgbaston] was quite humid. If we get a day like that here – and I’ve had many days for Durham like that – then the ball does swing.”I feel as though we’re good enough if the ball doesn’t swing. I believe, and everyone in the England dressing room believes, we can still beat Australia. That’s without the swinging ball and just as using our skills as bowlers. And the South American sensation has taken his game to another level in the opening weeks of the current campaign.

He’s found the back of the net on five occasions in just ten outings for his club and has scored two goals and laid on two assists in four caps for his national team, highlighting his growing influence over proceedings.

Raphinha’s devastating form of late has seen teammate Dan James label him as a “magician”, while his market value risen to a whopping £28.8m less than 18 months on from his switch to Leeds, further illustrating the Yorkshire outfit’s impressive work in securing his services.

Whether the £63,000-per-week versatile forward’s long-term future lies at Elland Road or not remains to be seen, but if he does depart, then Leeds will surely make a healthy profit on their prized asset.

كشفت تقارير صحفية عن اقتراب مهاجم الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي أولمبياكوس، أحمد حسن كوكا، من الرحيل عن صفوف بطل الدوري اليوناني قبل نهاية الميركاتو الصيفي في بلاد الإغريق.

وينتهي عقد كوكا مع أولمبياكوس في يونيو 2023، بعد عودته من الإعارة في الموسم الماضي مع كونيا سبور في الدوري التركي وتقديم مستوى جيد.
