O meia-atacante Pedrinho fará seu primeiro jogo como titular do Corinthians nesta quinta-feira, às 17h, contra o Red Bull Brasil, pela décima rodada do Paulistão. Inscrito na semana passada no campeonato no lugar do lesionado Vilson, o jovem de 18 anos dá opções para o técnico Fabio Carille deixar o Timão “mais leve”.

Pedrinho estreou no segundo tempo da partida diante da Ferroviária, no último domingo. Ele atuou no lugar de Jadson, pela direita, enquanto o camisa 77 foi centralizado e Rodriguinho ficou mais responsável pela armação vindo trás. Para o jogo contra o Red Bull Brasil, Pedrinho entrará justamente no lugar de Jadson, suspenso.

– O time ficou mais leve sem o Gabriel, um primeiro volante, trazendo o Rodriguinho para armar, jogando o Jadson para dentro e na direita com Pedrinho, um jogador inteligente que entrou muito bem – analisa Carille.

Pedrinho também vem para preencher uma lacuna no elenco. Os jogadores com características parecidas com a dele preferem atuar pela esquerda, como Romero, Marlone, Léo Jabá e Giovanni Augusto. O canhoto Marquinhos Gabriel seria uma opção para a direita, mas sofre com lesões e não consegue ter uma sequência na equipe.

O jovem, inclusive, desbancou outros concorrentes quando abriu a vaga de Vilson entre os 28 inscritos no Paulistão. Mendoza, Bruno Paulo e Luidy seguem treinando no CT Joaquim Grava, mas não são aproveitados para as partidas.

Já Pedrinho agradou em poucos treinos. Ele subiu ao profissional após o título da Copinha em janeiro e chamou atenção pela desenvoltura e boas jogadas nas atividades.

Além de oportunidades na equipe, Pedrinho ganhará valorização em seu contrato. O Corinthians prepara um novo vínculo para o meia-atacante, já que o atual termina no fim de 2018. Caso aceite a oferta, ele terá aumento de salário e sua multa também será ampliada. O Timão tem 70% dos direitos econômicos.

Aston Villa unveiled their 2021/22 home kit on Wednesday morning, which, as to be expected, had a number of Villa fans talking on social media.

Villa shared a 59-second clip to release the new kit, with the likes of Tyrone Mings, Ollie Watkins and Jack Grealish just some of the players to feature in the attire, with Nathan Dawe narrating over the footage.

The new kit is once again produced by Kappa, with Cazoo, an online car retailer, again the main sponsor on the front of the shirt.

There are two different versions of the shirt, one being a pro version and the other a traditional style top.

Villa stuck with their traditional claret and blue for the home strip. A barcode style front is on show with blue sleeves and blue around the neck.

Gennaro Gattuso has revealed he was distraught to miss out on the Tottenham Hotspur job before Nuno Espirito Santo was given the role.

The Lowdown: Gattuso a target

Former AC Milan and Napoli boss Gattuso was approached by Spurs to take over from Jose Mourinho (via TEAMtalk), who was sacked in April.

However, after discussions had progressed, Daniel Levy and co decided to go in another direction (via The Daily Mail).

The Latest: Gattuso shares disappointment

Speaking to Italian outlet Il Messaggero (via theworldgame.sbs), Gattuso shared his disappointment at being overlooked. He said:

“It was a huge disappointment, but I wasn’t described the way I am and there was nothing I could do,” Gattuso told Il Messaggero.

“I am sorry I could not defend myself and explain that I am not the person they were talking about in England.

“I had to accept a story that hurts more than any defeat or dismissal, in a moment when we don’t want to understand how dangerous the internet can be.”

The Verdict: Spurs went with safer choice

As a player, Gattuso was one of the best midfielders in the world, winning countless trophies with AC Milan as well as the World Cup with Italy in 2006. While his managerial career has not yet hit the same heights, he has still done relatively well, even managing to win the Coppa Italia with Napoli.

The 43-year-old is outspoken – just as he was as a player – and he has rarely settled at any club of which he has been in charge (sportskeeda.com). Nuno, meanwhile, appears to be the safer choice. He has managed in the Premier League and has not been followed by controversy. Only time will tell whether Levy made the right decision.

Some Everton fans have been reacting to a transfer update involving Rodrygo.

As per a report from earlier in the week from Spain, which has since been shared by Toffee TV on their Twitter page, the Goodison Park faithful are one of three teams that are interested in signing the Real Madrid ace in the summer window, along with both Napoli and Sevilla.

The 20-year-old is a very exciting prospect, having already played in 59 games in total for Los Blancos over the last two consecutive seasons, scoring nine goals and making a further 11 assists (Transfermarkt).

He has also been capped at senior level for Brazil despite his age, playing alongside the likes of Neymar, Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Jesus.

Of course, signing Rodrygo would be quite the coup for the Merseyside club, but currently valued at £31.5m by Transfermarkt, there may be some doubts over whether they can actually afford him.

Dois gols de Max (I) e um de Flávio Paulino e Valkenedy (M), mantém os times ocupando a sétima e oitava colocações na tabela e o risco do rebaixamento.

O Inter de Lages entrou em campo pressionando. Max marcou duas vezes nos primeiros oito minutos, mas um gol estava impedido e de nada adiantou para o time. Foi necessária a entrada de Flávio Paulino para que o Metropolitano acordade. E foi o prório meia que marcou de cabeça e encerrou o primeiro tempo com um empate.

No segundo tempo, mais uma substituição no Metropolitano: Valkenedy virou para o clube de Blumenau poucos minutos depois de assumir o lugar de Beto. Mas a vantagem não durou muito tempo, porque nove minutos depois, Max empatou em cobraça de pênalti.

O empate deixa o Metropolitano na zona de rebaixamento, com 14 pontos acumulados. Enquanto isso, o Inter de Lages está uma posição acima, com 16 pontos. Além dos dois times, o Figueirense, com 17, também tenta evitar a queda para a segunda divisão do Catarinense.
