Com a lesão de Breno, Lucão até foi titular no início deste ano, mas se complicou após falhar contra o Corinthians na Arena, pelo Campeonato Paulista. According to a report by West Ham United club insider Claret & Hugh, defender Aaron Cresswell’s hamstring injury is nowhere near as bad as first feared with the left-back having pulled it rather than suffering a more serious tear.

Cresswell injury boost emerges

Cresswell, who was taken off in the nervy 3-2 win against Leicester City shortly after the second half restart, was immediately confirmed to have a problem with his hamstring according to C&H.

Now, relaying an update, the insider claims scans have shared good news for the Englishman and for manager David Moyes – with Cresswell most likely back in around 2-3 weeks as opposed to a much longer period sidelined.

This is due to the hamstring injury being a pull rather than a tear as the insiders share this big injury boost for West Ham and, especially, for the 31-year-old defender.

وأردف: “محمد عبد المنعم موهبة كبيرة جدًا وأحد أفضل اللاعبين في البطولة، اكتشاف وشخصية جميلة ولديه كل المواصفات أن يكون أفضل مدافع في إفريقيا”.

وتابع: “كان هناك فرصة أن يتعافى محمد الشناوي من الإصابة ويشارك مع المنتخب ولذلك لم يعد لمصر”.

Na partida contra o CRB, a torcida do Vasco não poupou ninguém. Vaiou o time, chamou Jorginho de burro, xingou o presidente Eurico Miranda. O técnico reconhece a queda de rendimento, mas diz que não se pode esquecer do bom trabalho já feito por esse grupo.

– Tivemos realmente vaias, treinador vaiado, presidente vaiado. Mas não podemos esquecer os trabalhos bons que fizemos. Ganhamos um campeonato invicto convencendo, jogando muito bem, com raça e vontade. Fizemos todo um planejamento. No retorno não conseguimos manter um nível de atuações. A equipe de uma forma geral teve uma queda técnica, que é minha responsabilidade. Procuramos treinar e organizar a equipe e infelizmente não está acontecendo.

Pressionado com a má fase do Vasco, Jorginho fez questão de valorizar seu trabalho à frente da equipe. Segundo ele, por conta dos resultados no Vasco seu nome foi até cogitado na Seleção Brasileira.

– Meu nome foi vinculado para Seleção há dois meses e meio se o Tite não tivesse acertado. Inclusive, tivemos uma conversa com o presidente da CBF. De repente, o treinador não serve mais. Não podemos desistir, não vejo por aí – disse o treinador.

What’s the word?

Eddie Howe is the undoubted favourite for the role at the minute. He was in advanced talks with the Hoops hierarchy but things have stalled for the time being.

That’s because of a number of reasons. Howe doesn’t want to return to management until the summer while issues are lingering over the backroom staff he wants to bring with him.

One source suggests that Celtic have said no to his requests, one of which could be to bring Richard Hughes to the club instead of Fergal Harkin.

However, a new reason has come to light. Speaking to Transfer Tavern, Peterborough director of football Barry Fry said: “He’ll have to do a lot of work, because Celtic on and off the field are in a little bit of disarray at the minute. You know what I mean?”

Fry continued: “There’s a lot of players unhappy. I think there’ll be a lot of comings and goings at Celtic in the summer and I’m not sure that’s Eddie Howe’s thing. I think he’ll want a Premier League job to be quite honest.”

Fry has plenty of contacts within the game, mainly in the Premier League and English football, so his words should be taken with more than a pinch of salt.

More twists to come

With Howe waiting until the summer to take up a new job, perhaps he’ll look to see the impact Dominic McKay has when he arrives at the club.

McKay is due to replace Peter Lawwell as Celtic’s CEO and his main task when he walks through the door will be to address the playing squad.

This could lead to plenty of twists in terms of staff upheaval. Of course, both Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer are linked with exits while they need to address the future of Karamoko Dembele too.

If McKay can get some of those players so stay then it may turn out that Howe does want to come to Glasgow. After all, a Celtic team without Edouard and Ajer would be even tougher to manage.

A move to the Premier League seems safer for the 43-year-old but if he really wants to test and prove himself, Celtic is the place to do that.

Lucien Favre has emerged as an alternative for the former Cherries boss and could be more suited to the current situation at Paradise.

He took over at Borussia Dortmund in 2018 when the club were rather lost in a transitional stage of their history. When he first took on the role in Germany, he said: “Training Borussia Dortmund is an appealing task that I am taking on gladly. We will now build a new team together.”

The Swiss coach didn’t win a trophy with Dortmund but he did reignite a lost spark; winning 61.82% of his matches before being given the boot.

That was a big improvement on the man who managed the Bundesliga outfit before him; Peter Stoger. He won just 41.67% of his games so Favre was clearly adept at rebuilding a team.

Bearing in mind Fry’s comments, perhaps the biggest twist of them all could occur in the coming weeks; forgetting about Howe and moving on to other targets.

O atacante Gabriel Jesus, que recebeu o terceiro cartão amarelo e está suspenso para o jogo contra o Sport, domingo, pelo Brasileirão, deve reforçar o time reserva do Verdão. Nesta terça-feira, ele foi um dos únicos titulares a trabalhar no gramado. Quando os portões foram abertos para os jornalistas, já na parte final do treino, Jesus assistia à atividade do lado de fora e não integrava a equipe esboçada por Cuca.

Mas, como de costume, a escalação exibida diante das câmeras deve ser modificada para o jogo. Por isso, Jesus deve ocupar uma das vagas no ataque.

In recent comments made on Twitter, Caught Offside’s Leah Smith claimed that Liverpool have completed the signing of RB Leipzig centre-back, Ibrahima Konate.

So far this season, Liverpool have been extremely unlucky with injuries to their central defenders, with all three of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip being ruled out until the summer.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp brought in both Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies in the January transfer window, however, with Kabak struggling for form somewhat – the 21-year-old has averaged a WhoScored match rating of 6.69 over his eight Premier League appearances – and with Ben Davies having yet to make an appearance for the club, it would seem as if greater depth is still required in the position.

And, according to Smith, Liverpool have just secured the addition of RB Leipzig centre-back, Ibrahima Konate, with the journalist stating on Twitter: “MASSIVE! Ibrahima Konate to Liverpool is DONE and will be official on May 1st, 2021! £32m.”

Transfer Tavern Take

Despite having missed a large part of this season due to a number of injuries – something that could be a slight concern for Liverpool – the signing of Konate would certainly appear to be an impressive one for the Reds, with the former RB Leipzig manager, Ralf Rangnick, stating that the 21-year-old is “so good that he could play for Real Madrid or Barcelona.”

Furthermore, if Smith is to be believed, the £32 million fee Liverpool have paid for the France U21 international would seem to be extremely reasonable, as this figure is only slightly higher than his Tranfermarkt valuation of £31.5 million.

Given Konate’s age, assuming his injury woes don’t follow him to Merseyside, this could be a really astute piece of business.

وعاد صلاح إلى ليفربول قبل ماني الذي بقى للاحتفال مع منتخب بلده، وشارك المصري كبديل في مباراة الأمس أمام ليستر سيتي، والتي انتهت بفوز الريدز بهدفين دون رد.

ويستعد ليفربول لخوض مباراته المقبلة أمام بيرنلي يوم الأحد المقبل في منافسات الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز “البريميرليج”.

تحدث الأمريكي ديواريك سبنسر لاعب نادي المصرية للاتصالات لكرة السلة عن منحه الجنسية المصرية للمشاركة مع منتخب مصر خلال الفترة المقبلة.

وعن اعتراض البعض بشأن تجنيس لاعب غير مصري، أجاب: “أتفهم اعتراض البعض نظرًا لأنها المرة الأولى التي يكون فيها محاولة تجنيس، قد تكون خطوة صعبة للبعض ولكنها مفيدة بالنسبة لي وللمنتخب”.

وأردف: “منتخب مصر في حاجة لجهودي وأنا متحمس للعب معه، إذا حدث ذلك سأكون سعيدًا، وإذا لم يحدث سأشجع المنتخب المصري”.

وبسؤاله أن البعض يرى أن عمره 39 عامًا كبيرًا، أوضح: “سني بالنسبة لي طبيعي، طوال عمري ألعب كرة سلة وأتدرب وأجتهد وأبذل ما بوسعي، استمتع باللعب، لا أعرف الوضع بالنسبة للجماهير، ولكني أجتهد”.
